A Chinese businessman was sentenced Wednesday to 46 months in prison in the U.S. for his role in a cyberespionage conspiracy involving Chinese military personnel.

In March, Su Bin, a 51-year-old China-based businessman in the aviation and aerospace fields, pleaded guilty in a U.S. District Central District of California court for his role in a conspiracy originating in China to steal sensitive military data from major American defense contractors, including data relating to military aircraft.

Between October 2008 and March 2014, Su would email two China-based co-conspirators with guidance regarding which people, companies and technology to target.
