VIJAYAWADA: In a major embarrassment to the state government and the home department in particular, the AP Police recruitment website has been hacked, by unknown hackers who posted a message on homepage that they intentionally hacked the website.



The incident came into notice on Sunday and senior police officials alerted network security staff to look over the issue and resolve as early as possible before the theft of confidential data.




The hacker, claiming to be Susuke from Insanity Security Hackers International, hacked the site and posted message on the site. "DEAR ADMIN YOUR WEBSITE WAS HACKED BY Susuke OF INSANITY SECURITY HACKERS INTERNATIONAL PLS PATCH YOUR ASS!!!!!!," reads the message posted by Susuke.



When contacted, in-charge DGP Nanduri Sambasiva Rao on the issue, he said state police officials are trying to track down the IP address of the hackers and have increased the security firewalls for the Police Computer Services (PCS) server. "The website is a part of police computer server and luckily we did not lost any information. We have identified in less time and problem will be resolved as early as possible," said N Sambasiva Rao.



The top cop also claimed that no secret information has been lost from the website since it was open for all candidates for recruitment information in the department. "It's a just a section in the main server and has no connection with secret information storage websites," he added.



However, police have ordered an inquiry as to how the hackers could break into the website.
