Boney Kapoor has vowed to take action against an imposter who hacked his Twitter account and sent messages to industry folk demanding money transfers to be made to his account. The producer, who is currently shooting for a film in Bangkok, was alerted of the hack after numerous calls from Mumbai.

According to reports, the imposter contacted several media personnel and members of the film industry, asking for sums of Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 to be transferred to his account for a show in Lucknow. The caller even a provided a contact number to make the transfer, which was discovered to be a Gujarat number.

Boney has been inactive on his Twitter account since September 2015. The producer is determined to take action on the same and has reportedly advised his team to contact the cyber crime cell so that the impersonator can be brought to book.
