Several websites — at least four owned by the government and some owned by private corporations — were hacked on Monday, amid the country's celebration of the 119th Independence Day.
According to a report on GMA News' "Balitanghali," among the websites hacked were three sites of the Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA), and one of the local government of Sta. Cruz in Davao del Sur.
Also hacked were the websites of the Davao Region Medical Center, and that of Ayala Property Management Corp.
The websites were defaced by the hackers who identified themselves as AnonGhost.ph with the message "Operation Independence Day."
When you click on the websites, an opening message "Stop the martial law now!" appears.
President Rodrigo Duterte declared the entire island of Mindanao under martial law for 60 days starting May 23, due to the armed conflict with the Maute group in Marawi City.
