Back in February, Samsung unveiled an updated version of
Samsung Flow for Windows 10 PCs and phones, which allowed users to sync
notification and files between their PCs and smartphones, along with
unlocking their PCs using their Samsung smartphone. Back then, these
features were only reserved for Samsung PCs only and a lot of people
were disappointed by this. Although there wasn't an official statement
published by the firm, a response from are presentative to a review on
Google Play Store gave people hope that these features would soon come to all Windows 10 PCs.
Finally, Samsung has released a major update for the Samsung Flow app, allowing those exclusive features to work on any Windows 10 PC. This means that users will now have the ability to unlock their Windows 10 computer using their Samsung handset. This is made possible by using Microsoft’s Windows Hello feature in the latest version of Windows 10. Users will now also be able to sync their notifications directly to their PC, send texts and more.
For these features to work, one must have the Windows 10 Creators Update and a supported Samsung Galaxy smartphone running Android Marshmallow or above. Users will also be able to use a Samsung tablet running Android Nougat or above. The devices mentioned on application page include: Galaxy S8+, Galaxy S8, Galaxy A5, Galaxy A7, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S7, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Tab S3.
